TCAA 2025 Cattle Drive Spurs

Texas is known for longhorns and cattle drives—and when you add a yellow rose and a few brands, there’s a story worth telling.

On my mother’s side, our history goes back to those early cattle drives. Her great-grandfather, Jim P. Wilson, helped trail cattle to Kansas for the first time in 1880. I placed his brand—the 7W—right in the center on the inside of this spur. To the right is the brand of her father, who ran cattle and sheep in Ozona, Texas. To the left is my dad’s brand.

On the outside, I sculpted a longhorn skull in sterling silver. On each side of it, I inlaid 24k gold roses, all framed by fine English scrolls engraved into the steel.
